Prosperis puts its money on Garforth Town AFC

March 5th 2008

Prosperis Limited has been named Official Independent Financial Advisor for its local football team, Garforth Town AFC.

Prosperis director Mark Chandler met the Club’s goalkeeper James Holroyd at Garforth Town’s home ground to celebrate the new partnership. It was a welcome return between the posts for Mark, who trained as goalkeeper for West Ham and Millwall Youths in the late 1970’s.

The company, which provides professional financial advice to individual clients and businesses, has established a one-year sponsorship package and hopes through working with the Club to build a closer relationship with the local Garforth community.

The sponsorship will aid the ongoing activities of the club, which includes supporting the youth teams and working with the Lesonn Foundation, a Leeds-based charity focusing on disadvantaged children. It will also fund part of the Garforth Town’s community coaching, a programme devised by the Club which allows children from disadvantaged Leeds schools to be coached by the team players and Brazilian Soccer School coaches.

Garforth Town AFC has been established in the area since 1964. The team currently plays in the Unibond League and is based at the Genix Healthcare Stadium. Team manager Simon Clifford runs an empire of Brazilian Soccer Schools coaching one million children in 61 countries, and in 2003 launched Socatots, the world’s first football coaching programme for toddlers.

Prosperis director Mark Chandler said: “We are delighted to be entering into a partnership with this outstanding local football club and to be associated with an organisation that makes a real difference in our community”.
