Beverley set to inspire at Sheffield business event

Beverley Webster OBE, managing director of Prosperis Limited, will be giving a ‘warts and all’ account of buying and running a business at the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce Inspiring Women networking day this Thursday 6 March.

The event, ‘Be inspired…A Business Education Day’ is held at Kenwood Hall in Sheffield and features presentations from several female entrepreneurs including Rachel Elnaugh, founder of Red Letter Days and former ‘Dragon’s Den’ panel member.

Beverley, who founded the independent financial adviser Prosperis in 2001, will be hosting a lively session from 11.15am – 12.15pm, examining the pitfalls and positives of buying and starting up a business.

Beverley began her career in the manufacturing industry and was the youngest person and the only woman to be elected President of the Association of British Mining Equipment Companies. At the age of 40, she was awarded an OBE for services to the coal industry.

She also works as a volunteer presenter for the Financial Services Authority, educating employees in their place of work about financial capability, and currently chairs the UK Careers Academy Foundation Advisory Board for Longley Park College in Sheffield.

Beverley said: “My presentation will be beneficial to small and large business alike – I’ll be encouraging the group to share experiences and I want everyone to leave having learned something that they can take back to the office and apply to their business”.
