Louise’s return follows a Government announcement about a new award for expectant mothers. From April 2009 all pregnant women will be entitled to a Health in Pregnancy Grant – a one-off payment of £190 - which was introduced as part of the Health and Social Care Act 2008. 

 

Providing the pregnancy is at its 25th week or beyond, there is provision in the Act to facilitate early payments from January 2009. Click on
